I have had a few people ask me about them so I am wondering if anyone sells their fertile eggs for hatching? When did you start this? How does one get started? What is the best way to price them ?

Thank you!

I buy mine from the Amish locally. They sell them as regular eating eggs but they have a rooster running with them all the time. I have 2 dozen in a incubator now from them. They cost me $1.25a dz. I also buy some at a local animal auction. They sell from a couple bucks on up depending on what they are.

Start right here on BYC!

Thank you all for responding.
It is likely I would sell the eggs for hatching locally. The hand full of people who have asked are very nearby. I might be willing to sell on byc. Interesting prospect which I had not previously considered until now. My hatching eggs would likely best be suited for someone who just wants laying chickens but is not too concerned about breed. I have a Welsummer Rooster, some RIR's and a Black Australorp. Soon to get 4 more... of some type or another. I am guessing as such I could sell them for the same price as the eating eggs. And if someone on BYC wants them I could charge the same price plus the shipping...?
