Selling momma hen's chicks - how will this affect her?

I have a buff Orpington who hatched 9 chicks on July 3rd. Today, I was planning to sell 6 of the 9. Is this going to upset momma, or will she adapt fairly easily? She is a very attentive momma. If you have a similar experience, please share it with me. Thanks!

As long as she gets to keep a couple she will adapt in no time.

I take them away at night. they adapt quickly.
