I recently saw an add on Craigslist asking for fertilized eggs. What is a good price per dozen for fertilized chicken and duck eggs?

It varies based on the breed and your location, and what the market is like. I'd like to know what different people charge as well. Right now, I'm selling quail hatching eggs and barnyard mix including Easter egger eggs for $15 a dozen... not a lot of sales, lots of interest.

We are in South Texas, and there seems to be a fair amount of interest in raising backyard chickens/ducks/turkeys/quail but I have not gotten a good feel for prices on eggs.

I would suggest looking at Craigslist ads for hatching eggs and see what other people in your area are selling for. Selling pure bred as opposed to mixed breeds will likely sell for more, and certain breeds will sell for more than others.

I'm in Texas.
What breed would you be selling?
I have Rouen and Khaki Campbell pairs, one Pekin hen and one Magpie drake. But they all run together so I don’t really have any way of telling what each egg will be, especially since they all lay white eggs in the same nest. My chickens are Rhode Island reds and Barred Rock, not sure what our rooster is though. And have the same problem as the ducks, they all lay in the same two/three boxes and are also all brown. So unless I modify my setup drastically who buys from me would have to be ok with Mystery Mix! 😂
