Obviously, the buy/sell/trade section of this forum is one option, but just wondering what other outlets I might have to find buyers for my peafowl? I am moving and had to make the hard decision to give up bird keeping for a while.

I am looking to sell locally and tried craigslist and spreading the word amongst local bird people I know... and auctions around here are a bad bet.

The regular blue males might not be impossible to sell, considering people tend to gravitate toward the bright colored shiny stuff... but finding someone who appreciates the hens, the java greens or color mutations is quite a chore...And someone who knows enough and is dedicated to providing proper care is also a concern of mine.

I am in the Philadelphia area

How long have you been trying to move them and how much time do you have left before you have to move.
Lots of folks looking for peas on here and sometimes they get some when they are not looking LOL so mabe someone here will chime in .
If you have pairs i would sell them as pairs only so you don't get left with a leftover.
Photos are a big help here at least for me, they get my attention i love photos.

Sorry you will be loosing your friends but sometimes these thing's happen,

My neighbor up the road raised all kinds of babies, swans, geese, goats and fallow deer and her husband got transfered to Washington and they had to sell them all off, they sold their house with 10 acres and there is still 179 acres left for sale after 8 years, i don't know what they are asking but it must be alot cause land sells fast here at a fair price, i just sold a 5 acrer track under fence with road frontage for 32 thousand.

I know you probably won't be stay with BYC but welcome you.

hopefully they will not move this to the sale section, anyone here to help this person out?

We are moving to the city on the 15th, the birds have to be off the property by the 20th... If push comes to shove I have a friend who lives on a farm and is willing to take in my birds. I told her she can keep a couple in exchange for housing the others temporarily.

All of my birds are in their second season, managed to hatch 3 babies from them this year.
I'm going to list them in the for sale section soon but I'm still trying to figure whats a fair price for the javas, it seems to vary widely and I'm sure it also depends on my region. There does not appear to be a lot of peafowl fanciers where I live...
