Selling Poultry in Michigan

Hi,
I was wondering if anybody here raises meat chickens in Michigan and sells them to the public from your farm. I found information about the 1000 bird exemption but I am still confused about if I need any inspections or license and if I need to sell the chickens live and then process them.

Issac, several years ago, I checked out laws regarding sale of chickens. This was regarding an on-site custom processing business I was thinking of starting.

One can kill and pluck a bird, with no liscense needed. To open the body cavity, one needs an approved kitchen (by the MDA) and an MDA liscense (the liscense is easier to get than kitchen. but you need the kitchen first.
