I breed on a very small scale. To this point ive just been selling locally. I’m considering making shipping an option however.
Where do i begin with this ie; what are the “rules/laws” and other necessary requirements to be able to ship birds out of state?

@KsKingBee ships lots of peafowl, maybe he can help. Are you NPIP approved? I think that is one of the requirements.

To ship or transport across state lines you will need to be NPIP certified. Many states also require that you are also an AI Clean farm. Testing in our state of Ks is done by the state vet at no charge for NPIP which is done once per year. AI testing has to be done every six months, the Feds pay for one test, and I wIll pay for the lab costs for the second test. There are different rules according to your state so contact your state vet or go online, Department of AG, to find out your specifics.
