Semi-wild backyard chickens

Welcome @tofuflower ,
Great introduction!

Did you encounter @TropicalBabies ? She’s from Hawaii too. But at the moment not very active because of the fires on one of the islands. A disaster for her sons house. She has posted on @Shadrachs thread were more free rangers have joined. , tropical chickens (@TropicalChickies from Equador) , @ManueB from France, @Perris from England and many more people from the US have joined and debate about our jns and outs.

Just see and join if you like the thread. Don’t bother to read all of it unless you have a whole week to spend. Only need to know that pictures (taxes) are obliged to join. A little respect for the bucket boy is a nice to have too. 😀

PS are Tofu and Flower names of your chickens ?
Wow, thanks for all the recommendations and introductions to other members! Perhaps I should be using free ranger vs. semi-wild? They can survive on their own but really enjoy getting treats from us. They're in between the typical chickens that are truly feral or are aggressive beggars that run around like pigeons.

The number of pages in that thread is daunting! But I had fun exploring random pages and aspire to catch up. Lots of good information in there.

My username is actually after a Chinese tofu dessert that translates into tofu flower. But good idea, maybe I'll use those two names for future pale colored chicks!

I am so sorry! Many of us grieve longer for our beloved pets than we do a human, and I'm one of them. Having other pets never replaces the one we lost, but it helps! I hope so in your case too. 🤗

Welcome to BYC! :frow
Aww thank you and thank you everyone else too for such warm welcomes and understanding. I guess that's why this forum is such a nice place -- full of animal lovers!

@Callender Girl @TwoCrows Such a satisfying experience to have chickens clean up the centipedes, glad you guys understand!
