I was wondering if there was a good way to send eggs through the mail for the purpose of eating. My sister lives in an area where farm fresh eggs seem to be non-existent, and I was thinking of trying to send her some. Any ideas?

As awesome as eggs are fresh from the farm, that is kind of costly to get eggs, since priority mail costs would be rather high for even just a dozen eggs.

It's expensive -- but my friend in NYC thinks it is worth the expense so will pay to have me ship her eggs every month or two.
I use the large flat rate priority box from USPS. Line the bottom with crumpled newspaper and a layer of large bubble wrap.
Then I wrap each individual egg in the small bubblewrap that sticks to itself. I can get 18 eggs in the box.
Then I top it off with a layer of large bubblewrap and off it goes.
We've been doing this several years now & only had 2-3 eggs cracked in all that time.
