Our chicks are four weeks old and today my dear hubby built them a “nursery” alongside where our big girls are. Though none of the big girls has come close yet, they are vocalizing like mad! Is this normal? They know somethings up as we’ve been working in their coop all day (they have part of a shed). And obviously they heard the chicks chirping once I put the littles in their new area. Pics attached of the new area before and after the chicks were added.

I suspected as much!
while we were doing that, and cleaning up in there, I found a birds nest above one of the windows! I wondered why there was a bird in their this morning when I opened the door! Kept noticing moss on the windowsill, and sure enough, a sizable nest tucked under the curtain. Funny that the hens weren’t all bent out of shape about that! The nest has been removed and I’m thinking of curtains for the pop door as that is how the bird gets in.
