Sentence by sentence story

The boy is oblivious to the fact that his entire body is covered with blue sparks, that his mother is staring at him and has dropped the platter of meatballs she was holding, unknowing that his lifelong friend, Blue, is whimpering and nuzzling his glowing hand.
 
The birds in the trees see the eerie glow and flee out of fear, and Blue looks up with sad, wet eyes at his owner while his mother stares blankly for a moment, not believing her eyes, before she rushed over, still hesitant to touch him.
 
"Jordan," she calls over her shoulder to the boy's father and her husband, "Come quickly!"

He comes to the door that she'd left cracked open, and peers through the eyehole, and he gasps at the sight before hurrying out, "What's happening?" he asks dumbfoundedly.

The boy takes on a teal glow, eyes like ocean fire.

Jordan also hesitates to touch his son, yet he realizes that his son could be in grave danger, Blue cowers and hides between his legs as the boy changes color.
 
(Honestly, I don't know where we're going with this.)
Ivory wings sprout out of the pale boy's shoulder blades, and the first tinge of apprehension appears in his eyes as he gently touches the sparks that are crawling along his skin.
 
A wolf howls close to the house, the strong vibrations tickling Kohl's feathered wings as he stretches his arms and prepares to fly out - or so it seems.
