Separating babies from Mom

He's pretty serious about his bebes... He looks out for the horse and alpacas next door too... Also our cat has access. She's over baby squirrel's and chicks at this point because she knows they're family. But you let a mouse or lizard squeeze under the door and it's game on... I've got the after hours arsenal strong

Our last squirrel wilded up well. Disappeared into the woods. Months went by. When she was done and wanted to get out from under her grown babies she brought them to our yard, hung out for a day and a half then promptly dumped them on us. My husband is currently trying to parent them out of ruining our peach trees. It's not going well. They stare at him while they take a few bites of a peach throw it to the ground and go for another one... I'm pretty sure a couple of the bunnies he's gone through hell and high water to keep out of the garden are my great+ grandchildren too when we start teaching or squirrels to be wild they like to bury their nuts under the porch where Oz sleeps during the day because no one will raid their stash. One of our old ladies, Monique, prefers to lay her eggs in his bed on the porch. Whether he's in it or not Even the wild birds pick hair off of him for their nests while he's sunning. They are all well aware he is their ally and he doesn't seem to mind being used...

He is not, however, welcoming to a wandering dog coyote or raccoon ect. LGDs just know. My husband has never been a dog person. He's given chickens a go a few times and has always had bad predator problems. Till I moved in with Oz. Had to put hardwood floors down so he could be happy about it on the rare occasion Oz wants to be in the house. In almost 4 years we have had one hawk get a chicken, that's it. He's sold. On Oz at least
