Separating different breeds?

I am new to this form and recently found the NN breed which I love! However after quarantine when I put them with my other hens same age different mlxed breeds they “shunned” the NN? Why will different breeds always hang together?

As new birds it will take time for them to be accepted into the flock, but there is a tendency for breeds to hang out together.

My sister has lots of different breeds all in the barn. When they free range, the chickens will all split up according to their breed and forage around the farm. It is very interesting.

As mentioned it will take time for them to blend in with the other birds. They will eventually establish a new pecking order. I have some pens with different breeds (my general population coops and pens) and some coops and pens with certain breeds for breeding. Give them some time. Good luck and have fun...
