5 -ish week old chick, for the last 5 days has been having trouble with its balance, and im not sure why. Its butt looks naked now from its butt getting rubbed on the wood ( Im assuming thats what its from). Ive never separated before,so my question is should I seperate by itself or should I put a buddy in there for it? Its going in a dog crate with pine shavings as thats my only option of separation. If I do it by itself how do I integrate back to the flock if it heals.sorry if its a dumb question lol

I wouldn't separate it unless it's being bullied or harassed. If you need to separate it's best to divide up the area with wire if possible so it's still "with" the rest.

Gotchya, its not necessarily being bullied, but they're trampling over it when I replace the water and feed and it just kind of tumbles backwards until it gets to the edge of the brooder to keep its balance when it tries to walk. Im not sure how it happened. They kick alot of the bedding out like a hour after I put it in , so its kind of holding its butt on wood a good portion of the time. It is still eating and drinking. All 13 of the other chicks are fine and normal.
