Ok, so I went into heavy researching...and found this out....FIRST: Delawares have only a single comb...hmmmmmm and Columbian Wyandottes have a ROSECOMB....really hmmmm...cause my Ma bought from a known breeder that was "raising and hatching Delawares".....
Here is another picture of the "Roo???"
For sure has a ROSECOMB...has yellow legs
and this is what I found on the net:
Columbian: Columbian is white, but with a black tail, black wing tips and the neck is mainly black with some white
The Wyandotte is a medium sized breast with a rose comb and clean legs. The chicken feathers are broad and loosely fitting. The area around the vent is very fluffy. The legs are yellow, although some silver laced may have grey.
AND DELAWARES:
Delawares appear in a single color type: a white body and breast, with light black barring on the ends of the hackle, wings and tails.
They have rather large, bright red colored single combs and wattles
It is similar to the Columbian color seen in some breeds, but has barring in the dark portions, rather than uniform black.[1] Also of note is that all feathers have a white quill and shaft, which, combined with yellow skin, makes for a cleaner appearing carcass
so is it possible the guy sold us something that was wrong and he DOESNT know what he is doing???? OMG!!!!
SO LETS TAKE A POLL....WHAT DO I HAVE? A ROO?...OR HEN??? AND ITS IT A DELAWARE OR COLUBIAN WYANDOTTE?....LOL, THANKS TAMMYD57....I would have never thought to question the breed!!!!
It has plumage of a unique pattern, and is accepted in to poultry standards for showing.
