September 2016 Hatch-A-Long

I'm in :weee First time hatching eggs for me. Have 12 Australorp eggs in the incubator. Couldn't help myself this morning that I had a go at candling (yes I know most say wait till day 7). Just did two at random to see if any spider webs would be visible and YES- both #6 and #9 that I checked have webs visible at 84hrs into incubation. WOOT :celebrate Now to wait the long wait. Can't wait for little chickens......
What are you using to candle? I like how bright it looks.

I set 39 Rhode Island Red eggs from my 10 girls on Saturday afternoon so i'm in too! My hatch date will be September 10 (day after my birthday!) I am am hatching for the first time, so I am hoping all goes well! I am using the Pro Series digital incubator 1250.

Got my eggs this morning. They are from my mama's chickens so didn't have to worry about shipping

Hi, everyone! I came over from the August forum. We are in lockdown, with a peachick peeping but not pipping yet. The incubator is going to be freed up in a few days, so I am checking out local eggs for a September hatch. So far, it looks like quail and Silkies are available. Why didn't anyone warn me that hatching is addicting??

Yea I know I was in August hatch a long too I always say I'm not hatching anymore eggs but I just can't help myself. After this hatch I may hatch one more time this year.

I'm going to try incubating dry this time. Do any of y'all do this? If so maybe I could get some tips. I read that dry is the best way to go some people get 100% hatch rate.
