Well I checked my 12 shipped eggs today. This is day 4. I think I only spied 2 eggs with veins. Four eggs were too dark to see through. Might be a small hatch this time around!

Hi everyone. Joining the hatch a long. I am hatching 15 Black Copper Maran Eggs that I purchased from Ebay.
They arrived zuper quick~ but the with the way the box looks, I'm wondering if i'll just be hatching scrambled eggs :S

I have four different Brinsea Mini Advance(s) which I have used in the past with mixed results. I attribute this to the temperature gauge being off with all of the 4 different items. Which, is odd to me. Anyways I might set some eggs in the foam incubator because lately that seems more accurate. I have a temp gauge in the brinsea's now to monitor. So, we'll see. I am hatching black copper maran eggs which can not be candled from my understanding. I'm considering doing a dry hatch based on reading an article from this site http://www.darkbrowneggs.info/# but havent 100% decided yet.

@baunlee sorry to hear about the travel of your eggs! if you do do a dry hatch i'm curious to see the results. I'm doing blue copper marans but will be doing them with my other 3 breeds i've purchased so i was not going to do a dry hatch.

I have 35 Delaware eggs in the incubater (day 7 candling tomorrow) and I am doing my first dry hatch! It seems the ambient humidity here in Maryland is enough to keep the incubater' internal humidity between 30-46% with vents all open. I'm using a Genesis 1588. Fingers crossed for the first dry hatch! I'll post results in case anyone needs one more opinion on dry incubating.

I'm trying dry incubation this time too. I did a lot of reading on it and it has a much better hatch rate. Hope your hatch goes great!

So today is day 7 for me and I plan to candle my eggs tonight. I candled 2 at day 3.5 and saw veins then but did not check them all.

Q: If any of the eggs are not showing signs of development today should I leave them in for a few more days and recheck or just take them out tonight?

I usually go for 2-3 more days... Just in case! Darker shells I'll leave in the whole time since they're so difficult to candle.
