September Monthly Swap . . . . Sign-up NOW - Open til Monday.

The reddish ones are NH please don't call them New Hampshire Reds in the SOP they are just New Hampshire they are all the best of my American breeds they will go broody and raise the chicks and maybe you'll be lucky and get a pullet from the Dels they are a little bigger than the NH I haven't had any of my Dels try and be broody....they are my best layers though congrats on a great hatch

I have not received any eggs yet

I had one NH hen before it was from hatchery stock from the feed store. my son was 2 and 3 when I had her and she was the only chicken he could catch so he would tote her around all day. She laid eggs but never went broody but I was OK with that because I have incubators, LOL. I took pictures but I have been so incredibly busy all week I havent had time to upload them. Im hoping dellie is female. I hatched one dellie from Farmer John so I hope between the two of them i have one female.

Yoda, did you get any eggs yet?

Jenlyn, congrats on your hatch!

Has anyone else candled or have any hatching yet? It is day 10 for me and I have 8/9 developing on the swap eggs, and 7/8 developing of my own eggs!

I candled some. My eggs from Ga are iffy. There are 2 left and are too dark to candle. My eggs from La have 4 or 5 developing. I only candled the bantam from NY because it is still kind of early. It looks like a few of those are good.
