September Online Hatching Egg Swap

I am sad to report that all my eggs from this swap and other swaps plus purchased eggs are not going to make it :( the plumber who was here fixing a leaky pipe unplugged the extension cord to my incubator to use the outlet and did not plug it back in when he was finished. I did not realize this until appx 48hrs later, I did plug it back in but I candled today and all have blood rings. I am done being mad.
OMGosh, that's terrible! I'm so sorry!

Did the big egg make it? the one I think is a chicken egg? If yes are you going to set it? You will have to let me know if any turn out to be Ancona :)

Six eggs marked "BA2" and "BA3" into lockdown last night, and two chicks popped out overnight already. The chicks are black with white chins & bellies. I cannot think of anything they could be other than black Australorps. Who sent me these cuties? THANK YOU!

I have quail from chiqita! Actually they hatched two days ago I just forgot to post then. Only 5 of those hatched but that's ok. I have to find someone to buy these from me now. I don't really have room for the quail right now (or time)

I am happy to report that the chicks I hatched from you actualy saved the life of a teenie tiny serama chick! The brooder was also unplugged(I use heating pads and not lights) and your chicks kept the baby serama warm and alive!!
Awesome, so glad for that!! What do those chicks look like now? Heating pads? I have used one with just newly hatched but then under a heat lamp. How do they work in the brooder?

I have not candled yet. I only candle when I move them to the hatcher and I think this Saturday is day 18...I'll have to check my calendar when I get to work in the morning!
Just wanted to let you know that one of the chicks has hatched about 2 hours ago. He's not quite on his feet yet but working hard to stand. Picture below. We have named him/her "Wheat-thin"
Sounds coming from 2 more. Yay!

I just use a people heating pad the kind that don't shut off and I either place it in the brooder or under the brooder depending on what brooder I am using I only use the heating pads if I have a small number of chicks. I will try to post pics of the chicks later.
