September Online Hatching Egg Swap

Usually I send a little note with whats in the box and hatching dates etc, but I try and get the boxes to the PO JUST at 5, because they pick up and take it to the better sorting facility then ( not the holding place, right to the air con). I cut it REALLY close yesterday so I was packing at 440 and got to the PO 3 min late. So no nice notes for you 2! But yeah, they are 3 days less then chicken eggs. They it humid, and you will get feet problems in some if you don't turn the eggs at all, but other then that they are fairly idiot proof. Button quails on the other hand, are tiny and don't take to shipping well. I have 1 trio and 1 pair that i'm hoping start laying at some point, I get about 6 per 30 eggs to hatch of shipped eggs.

I have all sorts of people want them for their avairies, so I hope the little girls start to lay soon! The Marans are from the new girls that just started laying, so they are nice and dark. I haven't hatched their chicks yet but they are developing nicely, no problems. I have been getting 100% hatch again now on those **** Marans, so I think the issue was with the terms outside. I don't know WHY our mild temps would be a problem, but ill take what I can get. The Olive Egger eggs are almost impossible to kill, they ship really well and hatch great. I think if I left them outside in the summer they would hatch, lol. Tenacious eggs!

Got a box today from Lori, all arrived safely...Thanks for the extra's.....Your pens sound alot like the mixes in mine, I have the same breeds so they should fit in nicely.

Mine will all ship out on monday..Hopefully, (Nan's little problem is contagious, between molting and 3 broodies, not much cooperation)

Your welcome. I most likely forgot to add a few of my breeds to the list lol I tend to forget what I have. You can ship my eggs whenever you want no rush. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Lori

how many eggs total (so I can set up the incubator correctly - thinking of manually turning this time) and might end up with multiple clutches if my seramas start laying again :)

No need to answer, I'm going to manually turn this time. Do you think 3 x a day is good?

er...10? maybe? my brain is like a sieve...
here are some pics

The roo and hen that your FCBM eggs are from.

2 showgirl chicks.

Older showgirl in chickasaurus mode.

Lots of Marans chicks and their broody momma.

Its good you asked for some pictures, because I saved a whole bunch of chicks by going outside! One of my broodies I moved to sit on icelandic eggs went out to poo and got lost. She tried to get back to her old nest, where these chicks were, and went crazy. She killed one fcbm chick, and tore a huge chunk of skin off another and was going for the icelandics when I got there. The mother hen was going for the other broodies eyes and it was about to get more serious. I got the the lost broodie out and got her back on her eggs ( needless to say she is locked in now). The icelandics seem fine, and the hurt chick got covered in neosporan and blue kote and is sleeping inside under heat. We will see if she makes it :(. I'm still a bit shaky, had to call DH and cry on his shoulder.

But if I hadn't gone out I could have lost all chicks and maybe the hens, so ty for requesting the pics.

here are the icelandics, all safe
