September Online Hatching Egg Swap

This thread is rather dead. Not like the past monthly swap threads. I haven't seen any updates on when eggs have shipped. I guess everyone is busy with fall chores.

I don't know who my swap partners are either. Who sent me those dark dark dark brown eggs? Of course if I reveal who I'm sending (sent) to, they'll know what they're getting. But I didn't omit my return address or black out my name, so when you get your eggs, I hope you like what you got. If the PO ever delivers that is.

Just got them and I see blue!!! Are those what I think they are? What are the smaller off white ones? What about the two marked nj?

Yeah, you finally got them!!

Yes, they are what you think they are - Crested Cream Legbars. All the others are Norwegian Jaerhons, another autosexing breed, and these little guys are outlaying everything else I have right now.

How well are the NJ supposed to lay? I got an email looking for layers as the local feed store that carried them in winter burned down, and I mentioned I had some of these about to hatch, but wasn't sure how well they layed.

Can't really say, this is my first year with them. They are small birds, smaller than my white Leghorns. My NJs started laying at 20 weeks and I consistently get three to five eggs daily from five pullets. Did you read through the Norwegian Jaerhon thread?
