mnferalkitty and crazypetllady....i sent your packages, I hope you didn't mind that they came from a store, but I got put on 12 hour work shifts right before a planned camping trip, and knew I would run out of time to go shopping, so i relied on one of my favorite online stores...

I had 6 NJ and 2 CCL go to lock down on Tuesday and a CCL was telling me its life story a few minutes ago. When I set them, I didn't realize they were due to hatch on my birthday. I thought I missed setting eggs so I'd have a birthday hatch but I was wrong. Thank Candace!

My hatch is over. I have one Legbar (no spot so I'm guessing pullet) and 3 NJ (I think a reverse trio. 2 light, 1 dark)

Kella Jr didn't make it. She came too early and there was too much fluid in the shell. It oozed out, sealed the zip, dried and hardened. By the time I suspected there was a problem, it was already too late.

On a positive note, a Bjarthur x Drottning chick has hatched and is complaining about being alone, and four Iowa Blue chicks have hatched. Still waiting on more eggs to hatch.
