Septic egg yolk peritonits

My sick Australorp has been diagnosed with septic egg yolk peritonitis. She's an inpatient at the exotic pet vet. They are extracting fluid from her abdomen with a syringe and started her on antibiotics.

Anything I have found on the condition indicates a poor outcome. Does anyone who has experienced this have any advice?

Darn...I'm sorry to hear that...she'll need a ton of antibiotics and they might have to do a hysterectomy, the chicken equivalent of one.
