Serama #1 Incubator LOCKDOWN this evening.

I too have a hatch due on 21st. I work at a Primary School and we are doing a hatch in the school atrium, there for all the kids to see. The eggs are mine though as will be the chicks. I have 16 Orp eggs in four colours and 6 black Jersey Giants 'cooking'. Unfortunately, due to a last minute drop-out by another member of staff, I shall be away on a residential trip when my hatch is due and I have had to leave my precious eggs in the hands of a capable collegue. it will drive me to distraction though and I shall be eagerly awaiting every text to tell me how it's all going.....now THAT is real frustration!!!!

Had one chick hatch while I went to town, its so tinyyyyyyy. But he is fine all over the incubator. They are due to hatch tomorrow !!

Awww, congratulations!! I had two of five out of the last batch hatch a day earlier than the others....they did seem tiny but they thrived and are now 17 days old and growing like weeds! They are at that 'ugly veloceraptor' teenage stage....so cute and yet so....straggly!

Awww, welcome to the world little lady! Very cute!

I candled my eggs today. I never do it before 14 days as I like to have an absolute positive read of viable or non-viable. I was very excited to have 6 bought-in Black Jersey Giant eggs on the go but turns out not one of them is fertile

I also had 16 Orps in four colours and of those, only one is a dud, all the rest are looking great!

I have ordered another six Jerseys from another supplier so fingers crossed for a better result!

How many more have you got hatched now?? xx

17 so far, dont think others are any good.....but I didnt think I was going to get maybe 5-10...so 17 is good. And I know the ones in incubator 2 is gonna me about 75-95% hatching
