My little Serama, Delilah, is now 5 months old. Even though there are 8 nesting spaces she insists on laying her tiny eggs where the Dutch bantam, Pippa, lays hers. There were several arguments between the two for about a week. This morning I find that they are getting along better. The Dutch bantam is broody again of course. She will lay eggs for a month and go broody again. When Delilah lays her egg, Pippa will roll it underneath herself and hide it until I get it. Then Delilah comes back to check on her egg and gets extremely upset because she can't find it. Poor Samson "knows not what to do" with these "hen" spats. Pippa raised these little Serama babies and it is very entertaining to watch their antics. In the run when I give them fresh grass and weeds, she will run them away and hoard all of the clover. LOL Of course, I give them more. The Serama eggs are about the size of a nickel. Took 6 of them to make an egg sandwich. Cutest pets ever.
