How many eggs did you incubate?

started with 33 eggs, but alot of those was from day after we got the chickens, and some were a week old eggs, didnt think we were gonna get this many, we are still hatching 2nd incubator has 40 eggs and all but a few looks great, I candled them last night, they are due to hatch the 21st

Goodness me that's a lot! Are they to sell then?
I'd like to breed to sell but you can't post live animals in the UK
Quite rightly, so I could only sell to locals

yes my brother will be selling some of them, he also has 7 hens (Seramas) that started setting after we filled the incubators up. LOL

Do you know if you can add eggs to an incubator ?
I have 6 eggs in a twenty capacity and my husband thinks we should put more in
But I didn't know if its ok to have different hatching times

I have done it before years ago, but back then I hand turned them, use pencil and mark hatch date on 2nd batch is what I would do.

That's a good idea, it is a manual incubator anyway

We are at 14 and still hatching and all are perfect no problems

That's great obviously there is a very fertile cockerel in the picture

yes I guess so we have 40 more eggs in the 2nd incubator due to hatch the 21st of May, and on top of that after we filled the 2 incubators, 7 of the 17 hens started setting so another 70-80 chicks on the way at end of month lol

And to top it all off my brother order 100 assorted bantams, and they are just a week old....YIKES, chickies every where lol
