Does anyone keep records of the weights of their Serama chicks?
I just bought a scale and plan to weigh my birds once every week and keep a chart. I would like to be able to make predictions of which chicks will end up as A's, B's, C's. For example a vet once told me that a rule of thumb is that you can take a puppy's 4 month weight and double it and that will be close to the adult weight. I want to see if a similar pattern holds true for Serama.
If you have weight records, what do you show for 5 weeks and 8 weeks? My 5 week olds average 89 grams and my 8 week olds range from 165 to 190 grams.
And yes, type and personality are important but weight IS something that you can objectively measure.
