We thought this little baby(Dumpling) was a pullet, but as of, oh, this morning, now we aren’t so sure. A little background:

About 12 weeks old
Blue/black Malaysian Serama dad
Mille Fleur D’uccle mama
No attempts to crow yet (At least I don’t think so)
Half brothers had HUGE combs and wattles by this age.
1st pic- Dumpling
2nd pic- Noodle
3rd- half brother at approx 9 weeks
4th- Dad
5th- Mom

Any thoughts, because by this age we had known for a looooong time about his brothers.

Looks like a pol pullet to me 😬 what made you think it’s a roo? A full body photo would also help with ID :)
Thanks! The comb size and color suddenly seem so different between the two of them within the last two days. Here’s Dumpling strutting around this afternoon.

Nothing screams roo to me :) by now you would have definitely seen all the telltale signs of her being a roo. If you look carefully, she looks just like mom, but with a serama tail!

I think her comb is possibly turning red because she’s at point of lay, maybe you’ll get some eggs soon?

I figured as much, and I needed some more experienced eyes to help. Whew! 😆
