You got a Serama chick?! Is it okay? I worry when they are on their back like that : ) I had a Silkie chick that like to lay on it's back and I kept worrying it had wry neck or something and I kept flipping it over and it would just flip right back onto it's back... it just liked to lay like that and was perfectly fine.

He was a lone survivor out of a batch of shipped eggs I thought had quit on me. I've kept him in the hatcher/incubator alone since he hatched early this AM, because I'm not sure if he's okay or not. He took a LONG time to hatch and even longer to get up and start walking. He's up now, but he looks/feels "squishy". He's also kind of bald-looking too. I've only had LF and only hatched once before this, (4 day old silkies) so I don't know if this is normal or not. I'm afraid of "mushy chick". I was hoping someone could tell me if this guy looks okay or not, or what I should do with him. I dipped his beak in savAchick, sprinkled some food, but he's still in the incubator for now. I want him looking a little stronger before I put him in with the Silkies.

It looks better in this photo! You are doing what I would do. I do sometimes feed them a bit of yolk mixed with warm save A chick or vitamin water and yogurt if I have it. It probably just needs a few days to recover.
Thanks! Lol I'll do that. I knew they were small, but I don't think I was prepared for just HOW tiny they really are! He's sweet. Peeping up something fierce in there all by himself. I talk to him, he quiets down and he looks at me really hard, blinking. Probably trying to figure out what I am!
Oh! And the squishy abdomen...? Is that something that will go away? Or something I should keep an eye on?
That is just from the yolk and should be less squishy in a day or so.
