I recently received 3 serama hens all are supposed to be laying age. Two are a little over a year and not sure on the third but was told they all were laying. Problem is when I got them they had recently been through 2 hurricanes the second destroyed their coop, they also have mites that I've been treating them for and yes they are far away from the rest of my flock. Problem is they haven't laid since I got them and I was wondering how long is it ok for them to not lay? Also one of the hens vent is crusty and the area around it doesn't look quite right to me the others seem fine. I bathed them with some dawn to see if that would help. The first photo is the hen I'm concerned about. I'm fairly new to chickens my oldest hens are 29wks and have been laying with no problems so this is a first for me. I know they will have an adjustment period and that's fine I just don't want them to end up egg bound. Thank you

Moving + pest problem (+ losing their home to a hurricane) is stressful, so that would definitely put them off laying. If they are over a year old then they're also due for molt, plus shortening daylight hours (if you're in northern hemisphere) naturally slows or stops laying. They may not resume laying again until spring.

Don't see anything with the vent though if they have mites (or lice) that could cause some buildup of pest eggs and flaky skin around the feathers. Could also be some poop buildup.
