I have a little flock of Seramas that are just five months old, and are currently residing in a run built along my house. Sometimes they will come in the bathroom window if I leave it open, and sleep on the windowsill. The mess is incredible, but I can't bring myself to make them sleep outside until it warms up some...
Anyhoo, once in a while one or two will drop in for a visit during the day, to see if I have any treats available, and this afternoon pullet Lily came in and starting wandering around the living room, on a MISSION. Didn't want cuddles, didn't want treats... just made her way around the entire room, twice, knocking stuff off the tables and bookcases and being a bit of a pain. Finally, she settled down on one of the bookcase shelves, and I thought, awww, how sweet is that. I grab the camera and go to take pics of the cuteness...
"How cute am I....?"
*thump*
"How'd THAT get there...?!?"
Not only did she lay on a book called "Little Chick's Big Day", but even better, this is Lily's first egg...! I guess she took pity on my searching all over the run for eggs for weeks now, and decided to put one where I couldn't possibly NOT find it.
Her flockmate Fauna has just started laying herself, a week ago, but she comes in and demands to lay in my indoor roo Boo's cage. She was keeping Boo company in his house when she laid her first, so I guess she thinks that's her designated nest box now. LOL I might should start shutting the window, before the next pullet decides the cat box is a good place to lay... eeep!
