What breed of Seramas have blue legs? I just got 2 hens and they are seramas but the legs are sightly blue. My others are pink legs. Wasnt sure if it is a good idea to mix the 2 for babies because I want to be sure I can show them.

The APA and ABA only recognize one Serama breed. American Serama legs can come in just about any color, but one of the most divisive points of contention among fanciers is the color they are 'supposed' to be. Most people agree that some shade of yellow will be proposed for most colors to be accepted by the major breed organizations. If you can find a show that has table top judging, your birds will not be disqualified for their leg color, for that portion of the judging. The judge working the cages for SCCL should DQ your birds.

I doubt that you can get yellow legs by crossing blue to pink, so you may need to expand your flock if you don't think your birds will be competitive as they are.

What I am asking is I have 2 hens and they have blue legs. My rooster is a yellow leg so should I not allow them in the cage together? Does that make them a cross breed? I am not a breeder so I did not know the Seramas have blue legs I thought they were all yellow since that is what I have now. :) I want to be responsible with them and I dont want to have any chicks that my kids can not show later so I just want as much info as possible.

Putting a yellow legged rooster over blue legged hens is better than the other way around, from what I understand. Even if all the chicks inherit yellow legs, though, you will get off colors farther down the line. If you really want yellow legged chicks, I'd recommend trading the hens to somebody who doesn't care about leg color, or using them to brood chicks.
