I am really wanting to buy some Seramas soon. Don't know what it is about silkie breeders and seramas......Anyone know the average price of seramas and the best place to get them? Are there any Serama breeders in Florida? Really don't want to pay all that money for shipping......not made of money, as I am only a teenager...

I may have some test eggs soon when all of mine start laying. I have 4 pullets and 1 hen in my Nice quality pen with 3 roosters. Im also getting 2 more pairs soon. In my pet quality pen, I have 2 hens and a roo. You can see pics on my BYC page of a few of the birds

I also hatch them out sometimes, so if I ever have any chicks, I will be sure to let you know

ya there are some really nice breeders in Florida paradiseseramas.com is in florida, the breeders name is Dianne brewer, she has some excellent stock, Grady Taylor is also in florida, pm me if you want his email
in the meantime visit scnaonline.org for more info

Ms. Brewer is hosting the Southern Serama Classic in Florida on October 2, 2010. There should be a lot of nice birds for sale, and a lot of brains to pick! I reccomend learning everything you can, looking at a lot of birds, and shopping around. I know someone who will sell you somethinig for $150, and someone else who will sell you the same bird for $50. The first hen on my BYC page was given to me, because the breeder didn't like the color! If you can find shows in your area, call them and ask if they expect Seramas. Go there and talk to everyone who brought them, and the judge. The more friends you make, the better deals you will get. Join the SCNA forum, even as a lurker if you don't have anything to contribute. I love my Seramas! Good luck!

haha I dont know either love both the silkies and Seramas, expectally silkied seramas!

Dianne and Grady are both great people and with you being a teen most serama breeders will help you out. The SCNA is working really hard to get more youth members to work with Seramas.

Try to get into contact with either one!

Maybe I will get lucky and find some cheap seramas lol. If not, it will be awhile before I can afford them. But at least I have my silkies to keep me company while I wait

Thanks for the responses everyone! Hope I can attend Southern Serama Classic!

I just got two Serama pairs today, and they are laying. So I will have eggs pretty soon. I have 3 hens laying so far but I have 7 Show Quality hens. Then I have my pet quality pen with two hens (Ones laying) and a Show Quality White silkied Serama rooster and once everyone starts laying, I will have eggs and chicks
