(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I've had chickens since we moved to our farm in August 2015

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

Ummmm...more than 20, but less than 100. Wait, do chicks count?

(3) What breeds do you have?

I have English Orpington and Buff Chantecler for breeding purebreds, plus Olive Eggers, Black Copper Marans, and Crested Legbar for breeding OEs and EEs. Then just for eggs I have Barred Rock, Rhode Island Red, Gold Comet, Polish, and a few mixed breed hens. I'm currently growing up some Welsummer and D'uccle chicks too.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

It comes up every time I google a chicken genetics question, so I finally decided to join.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

homesteading - I have rabbits, ducks, and guineas too. I also spin and crochet and occasionally make soap and body products.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

I have a great husband, 2 kids, and cats in addition to my farm critters.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens great to have you join our group here

G’Day from down under SerendipityChick :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you include your general location on your profile, this will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock or other critters, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
