Serious size difference! (Pictures!!)

Great Pics!!!

I've got something similar going on, but I don't have any bantams.

One is either a late bloomer, or a failure to thrive...I don't know what that means exactly. Hope to have some come out of the bator in 2 wks - thought about taking the lil guy out and putting him in with the new chicks.

Yes, do they get along? I have seen a lot of people saying not to keep Silkies with other breeds because they are bantams, but I desperately want to try bc reallllly want to get some. mum wants easter eggers (so we basically have to get those), and we are also getting Brahmas, or else I would be getting Silkies only. but other people have said that their silkies hold their own among the other breeds just fine...its not like easter eggers and brahmas are stereotyped as overly aggressive either...what do you all think? right now I am thinking I will try it with VERY close supervision, and will just have to give away the silkies if they get picked on

They do get along just fine! The EE is super mellow though and the little bantam is pretty flighty. She hides and often sleeps underneath this big EE! And the EE seems to enjoy looking out for her! I have a 2 bantams (thee one in the picture being the smallest) and a silkie mix with 5 standards and everyone get along just fine!! But they have been together since they were very very little so I don't think they know any different! The Silkie does just fine holding her own. This teeny bantam mix kinda just keeps up with the pack. I haven't had any problems -- Good Luck!

they would be mixed within two weeks old so i think they should be fine. plus, the brahmas we just got are the most mellow things i have ever beheld. they run around like crazy when in the pen on their own, but when you pick them up they just cuddle with you. and ive never seen them take a single peck at each other. our first chicken experience is turning out to be delightful
