One of my muscovy just hatched her second lot of babies this summer. We have 11 healthy peepers, but several eggs were left in the nest unhatched. I learned from previous experience that mother will stop brooding after a day or two and if any of the eggs are good they will die. So, I started cracking. Three were just disgusting goo, the fourth is a fully formed, peeping baby. I have not taken the shell off completely because I can see there is quite a bit of yolk still not absorbed. "Egg" is in a basket with a rice bag that I heat up about every hour when it starts peeping. It's moving and seems ok, but I'm worried that it needs water or if I need to get it out of the shell or if there's something else I'm missing. I've also got a wet wash cloth in with it.

Also, another baby, from the same momma', hatched the day after the rest, was abandoned by her. I found her in the nest wet and cold and mom absolutely not wanting to attend her. I put her on the pile of eggs with the rest of the babies for the night. When my daughter went to take of them in the morning baby was once again abandoned, still looking wet and very cold. We have her inside being mommied by my 7 year old. The baby will drink water has dried out and fluffed up nicely, but we have to nipple feed her wet powder food AND her neck always curls to the right and she can't keep her balance or stand up. Any help here would be useful.

Thanks in advance for all of the advice!!!
