SERIOUSLY?? only in CA

Can't find time to even approach balancing the budget, but the big pressing news is a gay marriage ban

.... Seriously, that's a more pressing issue?

A few weeks ago we had a special election with options like borrow 25bil. from funding early childhood programs, or borrow 25 bil from elderly medical programs....

And then they act schocked no one wanted to swipe granny's insulin or the kiddies' sandboxes...

Can't borrow or spend yourself out of debt. This is just the tip of the ice berg. I see China is upset about the US Government printing so much money.

They are holding so much of our foreign debt, and the coming inflation has them scared. If they dump their US dollars on the market, we will really be in a fix.

If no one shows up to buy the treasury bonds, what happens then? Looks like that forty per cent of the population that pays no income tax will have to step up to the plate and pay up.

The era of the flim flam is about to be over.

Ah, yes, let's be sure government deals with those awful gays, and those awful 12 year olds who get impregnated by their fathers, and those awful cancer victims who find some relief in marijuana, and those awful research projects that might use...

No, wait, let's see. What is it government is supposed to be doing, now?

Not to sound dumb, but are they actually allowed to turn off the water... It's vital to living. I was told that say, during the winter the electric co. can't turn your power off due to needing heat...? I don't know for sure, just what I was told somewhere along the line

I guess they could do everything else though, and that would be just as bad...

Yes...but.... Not if a child under 8 or an adult over 65 lives there. You do have to call and notify them, and they have to turn it back on by law, but they can put on a flow restrictor that makes is so it's just enough to cook/drink with. You see alotta this with rential apts, the old renters move out and don't pay, the apt manger doesn't swap the name over, and then the new tenants can't get it turned on untill it's sorted out (takes a few days/weekend). If you have a baby or are a senior by law they have to get it on within a few hours (4 I think).

here you can only be 10 days late before they shut your water off..
Bill is due the 15th of each month and is past due after the 25th and will be shut off the 26th or the 27th if not paid....
water bill is about 50 - 60 bucks a month...
