It really depends on what you are trying to accomplish with your homemade feed recipe, and your reasons for not wanting to feed even a high-quality commercial feed. I think it is difficult at best to formulate a homemade feed recipe that is well-researched, balanced, complete, AND economical. Please post if you find one!
With so many recipes online I'm looking into what it involves. I want no soy. I like the whole grain recipes I've see & just don't like those pellets and crumbles. Scratch & Peck was one of the better ones I found in my area but its about $35 for a 50 pound bag. I have 6, 6wk old chicks & was trying to make a decision before they get to the laying stage. I would value your opinion!
