Set 24 eggs today! and might of already killed them

I opened the incubator to cool the air, and turned the thermostat down, and watched it constantly for the next four or five hours making constant adjustments until I got it back to where I wanted it. CooksChick's answer seems easier

Interestingly, my turkey eggs did not spike the same as the chicken eggs, but I only put in eight turkeys and I had 41 chickens.

I must have posted while you were asking about the turner- I absolutely think it's worth it- huge pain to have to remember it all the time, and I can walk away and not touch the incubator for 18 days with one.

I agree it take way longer for the internal temp of the egg to rise than you may think. Definately do not give up on them! I hope you have great success with them!

SUPER easy- HOWEVER:

Pay close attention to the temperature of the eggs, because the height at which they sit under the heating elements will change the temp of the eggs.

You should go to Wally World (Wal-Mart) and get the glass theremometer or something that can fit between the eggs in the turner so you know what the approximate temp is at the egg level, to the top, not the floor of the incubator. This is important, as raising them up in the turner will boost the temp by a degree or two.

its ok! I had a 108 temp spike on day 2 and i still got 19 eggs to lockdown (and then 7 hatched, and more were hatching when the power went out and got down to 74)
