Set 86 Eggs Tonight *FORTY-FOUR Hatched--Hatch Over *

Me, too, Kathy. The darkest BLRW has a HUGE wide comb-just has to be a cockerel. I wish all of them would hurry. It was 25 degrees here this morning, but should be about 70 later, so I need to wait a bit and continue painting inside the new coop. DH is running electric from the old ladies' coop, too. Will be in and out all day checking the bators and reporting in.

I'm gonna be working outside today, too. I will be in and out and checking in. Bator #2 should be full of pips any time now!

Two SLWs and another Buff Orp have hatched. Several more are zipping in that bator. * Make that 3 SLWs, that's all of those*

Nothing more from Bator #2 yet.

Nick, I'm going to grow them out some so I can pick my keepers, probably less than half of these if most hatch. I need a BR rooster and hens more than anything, then I want another couple blue or splash Rocks and a couple EEs or Ameraucanas. Unless the D'Anver hatch is super boy-heavy, all of those will stay.

I will share my extra BRs with Scott and if there are enough, Stan here wants some. Just depends. I can't keep large numbers but a BR rooster and three or four hens will allow me to breed more if I need/want them.

Kathy, a 2nd NH has pipped in Bator #2!

Whats going on with these blue rocks??? They are always the first ones out for me. You know, Im using a new roo this year, I wonder if thats making a difference.

Oh, that one is likely an EE. The Ams are much lighter than that.

What camera are you using? Great shots.

I'm using a Nikon Coolpix L22, 12 megapixels. It's an older model, but takes AA batteries rather than having a rechargeable one, which I looked for. They last for a good number of pictures, too.

I dunno about those blue Rocks. I think at least three or four of the remaining ones will hatch--they were fine at last candling. Some of the other EEs/ Amer are pipped. None of the BRs in that bator are pipped, either, and only two of the NHs. No issues during incubation and they weren't without power for more than a few minutes during that storm while DH plugged up the generator-temp only dropped a degree at that time, but it was the same with Bator #1 so that can't be a factor.
