Set eggs 4-22 anyone else?

Hi everyone. I set 41 eggs on 4/22. At day 7, I took two out and replaced with two guinea eggs that the mother abandoned. Not sure if they are even fertile, but I'll give them a chance. Anyway, I think I saw the beginning of some blood rings, and was nervous to take them out. I'll wait a few more days and see if they have progressed any further..

Well I candled yesterday with my little 104 lumens flashlight and do have a few suspected clears. My biggest concern is the Black Copper Marans eggs that I cannot see clearly into. I don't want to toss any just in case I'm not "reading" them clearly. I've been told to sniff them and if they smell rotten to get rid of them but none of mine are there yet, so... Crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. This is my first hatch so I'm hoping I get at least a few out of the 22 I set. I'm seeing very definite signs of life in the lighter eggs. Nothing more exciting them seeing those little embryos swimming inside of there. Can't wait for chicks! Good luck to all the rest of the 4/22 setters.

Did anyone else realize that we are going to have a Friday the 13th htach day??!! Crazy wish i would have noticed before.....lol i would have waited a day! hehehe.

redhd077 hehe not me mine are duck eggs,but I have so many other staggered hatches no telling when some will hatch.
SadieSue I have some from another hatch I can't see into,hope they don't explode...

Hello, everyone! I had set 28 on the 23rd. I cracked one, so 27 now. I candled for the 1st time today, but I'm a newbie and don't trust my own judgment. It looks like 21 or 22 of the 27 are definitely developing. I'll wait a few more days on the others, because of my lack of knowledge. I've never incubated eggs before and I'm using a home made incubator created from a cooler.
