Just found a broody cochin sitting on 7 eggs today!

So, I hope she hatches them So, today is day one with 20 to go.

My banty cochin went broody 2 days ago so we're close. She's got 5 eggs under her... 3 leghorn eggs and 2 EE eggs all by EE roos!

I just got my first pip about 1 hour ago. come on chickies

ok this is what i got. first one piped at 1pm yesterday. started zipping last night woke up at just a little after five am. was dead in the shell 3/4 zipped. 2 chicks piped small end. so you know that's no good. so out of the first 10 eggs i got 4 chicks. one don't look good. so i might end up with 3 good chicks. i have 10 more eggs to go on the 23rd. I am going to try hatching these in the egg carton with large end up. i am also going to raise my humidity. I have both trays full of water in the brinsea. but think i will add a sponge or paper towel.. these are shipped eggs.

well my second set of shipped marans eggs hatched yesterday and once again i got 4 chicks. i cracked the other 6 eggs I had 2 that made it till almost hatch time and 4 that was nothing but yellow gooo. so with the 2 hatches i got a grand total of 8 healthy BCM chicks. I also set 6 more of my marans eggs they will be due feb 9th.

Rocketdog how did your hatch turn out? i hope you have chicks.
