~~~~~ Set Eggs Sept. 22nd. Anyone else hatching? Hatch Along ~~~~~

I've got two pipped, but one is upside down. I just love hearing the little chirps, I'm getting so excited!!

Yeah I know what you mean. I still have just the 2 marans out and one maran pipped. Looks like 4 or so welsummer eggs pipped.

Ok, one is almost out. I believe it will hatch within the next 5 minutes and the one that is hatching upside down is about half way around making slow but steady progress. The other 2 I haven't seen anything from, so I'm getting I little worried. I know not to give up hope at this point since techinally day 21 doesn't end for another 12 hours, but being these eggs were so expensive and there is only the 4, I sort of became attached to all of them. Usually I'm hatching 30 chicks so they are all just a bunch of cuties, but these are a bit more special. I really hope they all make it.

Yay! They are both officially hatched! Now for the other two...

I have 9 hatched this morning. I had to help one that was shrink wrapped in the egg. Looks like it's doing ok. I have one more pipped. The others are just sitting but I will check them later tonight. Glad to hear you have some out. I always worry a little I will get none. I will post some pics when they are all dry.

I candled the other 2 eggs while moving the 2 that have hatched. One I saw movement in but no pip, and the other doesn't look so good. I'm thinking it quit aroudn day 19.

Well I only got the 2, the other 2 passed away in their shells. I'll try to take pictures tomorrow. Your's are very cute!

We just got out of a 5 hour power outage. I kept those 2 little babies as warm as posible snuggling them each in one hand. They quickly settled down and fell asleep, it was pretty sweet.

Sorry to hear the other 2 didnt make it out. I had a few fully formed but never pipped. It's frustrating to wait 3 weeks and not have some make it out. But I am happy for the 9 I ended up with in the end. I packed away my incubator for the year. I have been selling a lot of eggs on ebay. I am going to hatch some more next spring after my marans start laying.
