Set more duck and chicken eggs

As people candle, please post here with results.
Of the eggs I have had in for a while, candling has been touch and go. Still not the greatest at it after three years!

I have been trying to candle my chicken eggs for a week or so, but hadn't been able to find a bright enough light source. I am too cheap to buy a new flashlight.

The other night I made a candler out of a desk lamp, black construction paper, and painters tape (it was the only thing I have easily accessible). It worked great!! I was finally able to see something in my brown eggs.

Once my duck eggs get a little more developed (hopefully) I will try to take and post pictures. I am kind of worried that I didn't really let them rest before putting them in, the humidity is way to low, and they have poo on them because they were shipped that way.

All you can do is try. When I have received duck eggs that have poo on them, I take some sandpaper and brush it off a little.
The eggs I already had in the incubator will be going into lockdown tomorrow. They are chicken eggs (Salmon faverolle crosses, polish, bantam cochins etc. the lakenvelders are in there too even though they are behind the others by a day or two. I could temporarily put them in another incubator but decided not to since they were so close.)
Next week duck and quail eggs hatching.

Well, so far one egg was visibly bad and I removed it over the weekend. I will pobably candle tonight or tomorrow to see how it's going. I hope I will have some good results to report.

good luck!!!
I put four Pilgrim goose eggs into the incubator this morning.
Next week I will be putting mixed eggs into an incubator that I am testing out, an old brower. It should work okay but I wanted a trial run first.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!! I put them in lockdown just in time last night because I took the flashlight this afternoon and one of the cochin bantam eggs is pipped!!!!

I have five more of those from Scott here on the BYC. The Polish from bishopschickens, Salmon Faverolles from Cloverleaf and Lakenvelders from easttxchick.(I probably said this before, lol)
In the OTHER incubator (going to move some eggs over to this one after these all hatch) is eight Anacona eggs, four Pilgrim goose eggs, six Indian Runner/Blue Swedish eggs, two Aracauna eggs and 60 quail eggs (mexican speckled, coturnix and bobwhites.)
Nope. No partridge in a pear tree. YET!

8/9 Ancona duck eggs have visible veins on day 6 - even the cracked one with scotch tape on it!
