I ordered eggs to hatch out and for some reason they were 12 days in transit thanks to the wonderful USPS. When I got the call that they finally had arrived I immediately set up the incubator, got it up to temp, adjusted the humidity and set them in. I had expected them 9-10 days earlier and when they were a week overdue I put up the incubator never expecting to see them. My question is- is there any chance some of them will hatch? This is only my second time incubating.

There's a chance. You might not get as good of a hatch rate as if they were fresh, but since you have them, you might as well try. You'll know when you candle after a few days whether or not they were still viable.

Thanks for the response. At this point in the game I have nothing to lose, so I'm trying to be hopeful. I wasn't expecting huge numbers even from fresh eggs so I would be thankful for even just a few. My last hatch consisted of a mix of darker eggs and they were a bit diificult to see through until about day 7, so I'm hoping I have better luck identifying what is going on inside of these.

I sold some eggs to someone that I disclosed the oldest ones were two weeks old and that they had been sitting piling up on my kitchen counter in mid July, no AC, not being turned. She ended up having one of her best hatches ever out of those eggs! Nearly 100%, and a lot of them were darker marans eggs. She got nearly sixty COOL eggs for $20. Best deal she ever made. Hope your hatch goes well too.

out of my last hatch of 13, 12 were in the fridge for two weeks, which i hear is not recommended, but i did it, and they are running around peep peeping away. i did it as an experiment (and that person had beautiful chickens) and when i candled i almost fell off my chair! amazing beating hearts and little wigglers! i am starting to think eggs are not as fragile as i thought
