What a great percentage for shipped eggs! I once had a 100% hatch of EE eggs that were shipped all the way from Georgia to California. I contribute a good hatch rate from shipped eggs, to packing and healthy parent birds. The breeder you got them from is to be commended!

Absolutely agree. I'm going to wait for the eggs to hatch, and then give her some stellar feedback!

Update...of my 12 eggs 5 were fertile. I had only seen the roo get one of the red hens...but of course no way to tell who's eggs are who's, in the nest box. Lol all are developing great. I also added 6 more eggs from my red girls, a few days ago....and 3 eggs. From my bantam cochin.

I only have 6 of the original 17 eggs developing. All shipped eggs. I have 1 of 1 olive egger, 1 or 4 BCM, 2 of 5 Blue Wheaten Ameraucana and 2 of 5 silkie eggs developing. I guess about 1//3 of them are developing is not bad. They did ship from TX to TN. I did put in a few pullet eggs from my chickens last min. and 5 out of 7 are developing. Only two more weeks!!!

OK can I still get in? I set 12 Black Copper Marans and 3 from my hens, don’t know who, on 8/13/11. My 1st time ever incubating ever. Tried candling today and did see something in lighter eggs but darker ones to hard for me and my DH dropped one of me BCM and broke it, it was growing.

May try again letter, without his help or just see what happens. Can wait to see my babies! I order the eggs on e-bay and all arrived in good shape and have nice color. I did allot of reading before I started so I hope all turns out good.

I've got staggered hatches starting all the way from today and ending 21 days from now... that is, if I don't put more in the incubators. Our fall chicks from last year did great and started laying in the spring. We had more eggs than we could use, sell, and give away. Hopefully it will be the same this year! Good luck to everyone on their hatches!

And it always seems to be the chicks you want worst that get dropped! /comfort

I mentioned my staggered hatches... here are the types of eggs I'm incubating now (thank goodness I have my BYC calendar to help keep up with it):

Pharoah(coturnix) quail; Sebright; Rosecomb; Silkie-X-Ameraucana; Silkie-X-Ameraucana; BO-X-Ameraucana
