Setting (Again) April 16th-18th...

I was planning to set on Saturday the 16th but the changes I have made to the incubator are still in question. I'm not sure how long it's going to take to get dialed in at the proper tamp and humidity. Maybe I'll be ready to go in a few days.

That's okay I set some duck eggs and they won't hatch until a week after everyone else.

When I start is of some importance because I saved some eggs that were fertilized by a roo I no longer have. The time is going to run out on those eggs fairly soon. I guess if they get too old before I am ready to go, I could fry them up and feed them to my dog and my birds.

I would still try and hatch them. I don't recommend this, But I was bored one day and decided that we had too many eggs in the frig. they were some where between 2-3 weeks old. So I put them in the bator. 7 day later I couldn't believe my eyes, they were still fertile. I don't remember how many hatch, sorry. I have heard people call them there refrigerator chicks.

They are here!! All three packages came today. I was so impressed with the shipping!

I would drive my brother crazy at Christmas - never tearing the paper. This technique came in handy today.

So here is what it looks like now.

I am letting them rest and will start them Saturday. After reading a few other threads, I decided to wait to start the turner for 2-3 days and keep the humidity lower.
I am making a list of all the different ones right now. 42 being set - 4 of my own, the rest shipped.
This was better than Christmas!

Woohoo, got the rest of my eggs in today, so I am letting them rest overnight and will set them in the morning. Got my eggs from 2 sellers on ebay, and both sent me plenty of extras. One auction was for 12 BLRW - sent 15, the others were 3 separate auctions from the same seller for 6+ eggs each(2 auctions of BLRW, 1 auction of Blue/Black/Splash Ameraucana) - seller sent 12 per auction, so 36 eggs! Not one egg broken in shipping, so now I have too many to fit my turner!

Hope everyone has a great hatch!

I should be getting my eggs in the mail tomorrow! Though, I've not been having too much luck with hatching I'm desperate for making it work! I will not give up!

This group will be 8 spitzhaubens and 8 BLRW. I'm excited and hoping it works this time! Any good andvice? Hova-bator, still air incubator.
