We're getting down to the halfway point...lockdown in a week for me! Last hatch(my first) mine started pipping and hatching day 19. Can't wait to see what I get out of this batch! I am not going to candle until day 18 before I lockdown...so hopefully a lot of them are good. Can't wait to see all of our chicks!

why don't you candle?? I candle around the third or fourth day..can pretty much tell which ones are fertile..a little bean shaped embryo by then..plus, after day 5 it's practically impossible to see anything in those green eggs..if I see veins in them at day 5, I don't bother candling again because I can't see much in there, even with my really nice candler.

today was bitter sweet. i sold most of my chicks. the other 2 are looking for them

i candled the batch i have in that are due next week. there were 4 that had looked questionable a few days ago and now have definitely quit. the veins had disappeared and there were black blobs floating. they seemed to be various stages of development. i now have 7 in that batch. also 26 that i set yesterday in another bator. how is everyone else doing? all your babies ok from last hatch?
