i'll look at the toes more closely. it is already quite a bit bigger than the speckled sussex it hatched with. i was just figuring breed difference but maybe not. it is already trying to hop onto the side of the brooder.

i'll keep you posted with pics too. also the other batch is going into lockdown tomorrow. 9 of the orps look good and only one of the 14 faverolle eggs developed.

hopefully it will hatch but with my luck it will be a roo. did your ducks hatch yet? should be due right about now??

i have been holding them a lot for short times. today when i held them the orp fell asleep in my hand. so sweet. they are afraid when my hand goes into the brooder but then after i pick them up they are fine. yay
