I have peepers!!!

Just finished my hatch. Thought you would like the see what I have 12/18 hatched. One is sickly. Barnies, Blue Marans, LS, Blue ameraucanas

Oh.. anyone ever do a grocery store hatch. I am going to see what I get! I bought eggs at Whole Foods. I looked an the website for the egg farm and e-mailed them to what they are... my guess is production red, or production red crosses? Anyone ever do this?

Congrats those are little cuties!

The main problem with grocery store eggs is that they are usually from hens that are not kept with roosters, and so are not fertile. But if you have time and space, why not?

I'm a lil late but i would like to join the hatch along. My day 1 was May 1. I candled sat night and 12 of the 14 are coming along fine. I have 7 under my broody hen as well. She's a couple of days ahead of the bator. It'll be her first hatch can't wait to see how she does. I'm trying to be totally hands off with her, but it's so hard to not candle those eggs!!!

Just finished my Day 7 candling...here is the report:

- The 2 guinea eggs have air cells, and that's about all I can see
- I have 3 questionable eggs, all of which have veins, but no movement and 1 of the three looks likes the veins are"falling" towards the bottom so I assume this one will be a blood ring?
- The other 11 have FANTASTIC veining and I could see movement in all of them!!!!!!! Wahoo!! That makes 6 green eggs and 5 Brown eggs that are developing fine....

So much fun to watch them wiggle around in there...Just love it!

Well 3 more out today

down to 10 EEs and 18 Millie Fleur D'Uccles out of 41 total eggs I received. Still happy considering the deal I got. Let's just hope they all hatch!!
