Setting eggs Memorial Day Weekend! :) They're hatching!!!

Today is Day #21. We woke up to 2 eggs chirping to each other and they both pipped while we were eating breakfast.

We have been watching intently but it's a little like watching a Bass fishing tournament . . . not a lot of action!

This is getting exciting. Some of you guys are starting to hatch. Mine are going into lockdown today and then it is just a few more days. Come on little guys....

Just put 14 orps and 1 pekin egg in the hatcher. Next week I have another 20 or so orps due to hatch and 6 polish/opr crosses

I came for lunch this noon and the Hatcher was pipping and popping !

Out of 14 Blue Marans...

3 chicks born on Day 20

5 chicks on Day 21

and another 2 pipped.....

My next update will include color break down once they are fluffy!

OMG. I got a dozen that have pipped and they are not due to come out till the 19th! I had to go into an early lock down. lol.

Congrats JD! I have to admit that I spent 15 minutes last night listening for chirping eggs. None yet

But seeing the rocking egg on Tuesday has given me hope that I'm not too far away!!!!

Today's job, clean and sanitize the incubator and hatcher and get ready for the next batch of Blue marans eggs from Peachick.

Move the 18 wheaties chicks from the brooder to outside.....
